A veteran of the industry with more than 20 years of experience, David will lead course maintenance, management, and long-term agronomic strategy for our championship-caliber layout. He joins us from Congaree Golf Club—ranked No. 40 on Golf Digest’s list of America’s 100 Greatest Golf Courses—where he oversaw construction and tournament prep for events like the Palmetto Championship and CJ Cup. His career also includes leadership roles at Pine Valley and Diamond Creek, two of the most respected clubs in the country. At Kawonu, David will play a critical role in shaping the course alongside architect Andrew Green, ensuring every detail reflects our vision from the ground up. Creating a hidden short loop of six par-3 holes using the existing golf holes around the large lake offers tremendous variety, challenge, and excitement. The Old Hundred Loop at Kawonu Golf Club delivers just that! By playing these holes from different angles, you are presented with fresh lines of play, rewarding creativity, and shot-making skills. The setup provides a quick, fun alternative for special events, extra holes after the round, a wonderful short game practice session on the course, or a perfect golf experience when time is limited.
