The cottage program
Kawonu Golf Club’s cottage program includes twenty member-owned cottages located on club grounds and available exclusively to members and their guests. As Andrew Green said from the start, “We are building something new that feels really old.” That philosophy extends beyond the course to these cottages, which are thoughtfully designed to feel as though they have always been here — complementing rather than competing with the land, and enhancing the member and guest experience.
Each cottage is delivered as a turnkey offering, with design, construction, and furnishings coordinated to align with the club’s architectural vision. Cottages are owned under a 99-year ground lease, with the club retaining stewardship of the land to preserve the long-term character of Kawonu.
When not in use by their owners, cottages may be made available through a member-only rental program, providing convenient overnight accommodations that support the overall club experience.

The result is interiors that feel timeless, livable, and uniquely aligned with both the home and its setting.

Doug Oles and his team at Evergreen Custom Construction are building the cottages at Kawonu. Based in Greenville, SC, Evergreen is a family-owned custom builder specializing in high-end residential construction across the Upstate of South Carolina and Western North Carolina. The team brings a hands-on, full-service approach to every project—working closely with architects and designers to deliver homes that reflect quality craftsmanship, care, and timeless construction.
