THE GOLF COURSE ARCHITECT
ANDREW GREEN
Andrew Green’s upward trajectory in the golf world in recent years is remarkable. After working for a golf course contractor for 15 years, Andrew got his break when commissioned to renovate the historic Inverness Club in Toledo, which hosted its first US Open in 1920. The Inverness work was recognized by Golfweek as Restoration of the Year in 2018. Incredible opportunities followed, including the reinvention of Congressional Country Club’s Blue Course in preparation for ten different PGA of America Championships over the next two decades, concluding with the 2037 Ryder Cup. His transformation of the East Course at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, NY, was lauded by players during the hosting of the PGA Championship in 2023.
Andrew’s hands have also touched venerable venues such as
Scioto Country Club in Columbus, Ohio,
Wannamoisett Country Club in Providence, Rhode Island, and
Interlachen Country Club in Minneapolis. Andrew’s complete renovation of
East Lake in Atlanta was unveiled at the 2024 TOUR Championship in Atlanta in late August. Our Founding Partners are extremely excited that Kawonu Golf Club will be one of Andrew Green’s first projects “from the ground up”. We know that our members and guests will be, too.
